On August 4, 2012, designers and spectators are flying from all around the world to attend one of San Francisco’s most anticipated fashion events - Mélange 2012. The annnual fashion show, produced by Mélange Productions, will celebrate diversity in the fashion industry through a unique blend of international fashion, music, theater, dance and technology. Mélange Productions is known for orchestrating a medley of artistic mediums that tell a story and transition flawlessly into high fashion runway segments of incredible clothing, for an evening of amazing entertainment. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has partnered with Mélange 2012, because both organizations share a mutual objective of fostering cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and a culture of peace. Guila Kessous, UNESCO Artist for Peace and Jean Paul Gaultier’s long standing Creative Director, has been a key leader in Mélange 2012, as this year’s show is a Tribute to Human Rights.
Fashion designers from around the world have competed to win a spot in this years fashion show. Confirmed designers include Electronic Sheep, as featured in Vogue, Elle, and more, and also Varignia Garcia, Tuan Tran, Bossini Boutique, and other top designers. Celebrity designer Marzio Fiorini, known for his unique and colorful accessories, will also be participating in the production. “Mélange has garnered international attention in the fashion community because of our unique mission to utilize fashion as a vehicle for celebrating diversity,” says Nick Navarro, CEO of Mélange Productions, Inc. The company’s executive team has traveled the world to South Africa, Peru, Croatia, Brazil and more scouting top designers and participating as celebrity guest judges for international fashion competitions.
Mélange has experienced incredible growth this past year in collaborating with top designers, celebrities, and even universities. Mélange was a key resource in assisting the production of Harvard’s largest fashion show, Eleganza 2012 with partners Saks Fifth Avenue, Vera Wang, and more. Eleganza Executive Producer, Schuyler Polk, explains, "Mélange Productions was absolutely integral in making Eleganza 2012 the success that it was.” Mélange also produced Bossini Fashion Show, which featured Versace Spring/Summer 2012 Collection in San Francisco this past March, and most recently, Mélange collaborated with DJ Donovan to host Wonder at the W San Francisco; international fashion icon, Tyson Beckford, was in attendance.
The milestone Mélange event, Mélange 2012, will take place at the Regency Center Grand Ballroom at 8:00 PM PST on August 4, 2012. With the company’s experience working with top brands, including Sephora, SKYY Vodka, Nicole Miller, and more, and the team’s coaching by Oscar-winning movie producers and Jean Paul’s Creative Director, this production is sure to be an event not to be missed by any person or publication.
